The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982. AKRSP has been working in Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan with the overall goal of improving the quality of life of the people in the programme area.

The AKRSP is seeking a high calibre professional for the position of Manager Human Resource to be based in Head Office, Gilgit.

Job Purpose:

Manager Human Resources is responsible for directing and managing the HR function, including the development and implementation of the overall corporate human resources strategy, and ensuring its alignment with the vision and goals of the organization. The incumbent will report to General Manager

Job Description: Major responsibilities of the Manager HR will be as following:

  • Ensure HR strategies, policies, procedures and systems are linked to the strategic and programmatic objectives of AKRSP;
  • Lead and guide new HR strategies, policies, and programs to address emerging organizational needs and initiatives including work-life balance, achievement of diversity targets, rewards and recognition, field conditions of service, staff safeguarding and fair compensation and benefits;
  • Promote synergies and linkages across AKRSP to drive organizational change through creative HR planning, development, and management;
  • Support and encourage staff engagement towards change and reform, engage and empower supervisors/line managers to embrace change(s);
  • Develop an effective performance management system and coordinate effective implementation at all levels;
  • Facilitate and advise senior management in dealing with recruitments, promotions, transfers and separation/termination issues;
  • Ensure that employee database is regularly maintained for timely reporting to Senior Management;
  • Act as the focal person for implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures;
  • Ensure induction of newly hired staff including consultants, interns and volunteers;
  • Support senior management by providing human resource advise, counsel and decisions;
  • Ensure compliance with the local/labor laws regulations/requirements and anticipating risks;
  • Develop a strategy in consultation with senior management for learning and development, coaching, mentoring and succession planning of staff;
  • Plan and oversee the HR department work in all areas of HRM to ensure effective delivery of HR Department Annual Work Plan;
  • Monitor and evaluate the Department performance and the implementation of all HR staff work plans;
  • Leverage technology to ensure the effective delivery of human resource services across different programme areas of the organization;
  • Represent AKRSP in external meetings related to HR policy matters within AKDN and other forums.

Required Experience: Candidate must have 10 years of experience with at least having 5 years of professional experience in managerial position in a reputable organization or an NGO is required. The candidate must have solid knowledge of latest/modern HRIS systems
