Pathfinder Overview

Pathfinder International, through its field office in Pakistan and with the financial support of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) is working on ‘Increase Post-Pregnancy Family Planning through Expanding Public and Private Sector Access with a Focus on Young Women’ through the IRMNCH & NP, Punjab. The objective of the initiative is to ensure ‘high quality post-pregnancy family planning’, with a focus on young women (age 15-24) in Sindh and Punjab Provinces in Pakistan’. The purpose is to address choice of methods available, overcome missed opportunities and improve contraceptive method mix. In this regard, Pathfinder International in partnership with the Government of Pakistan and WHO to undertook revision of the Basic Training curriculum for RTIs in 2013 and incorporated PPFP, HTSP, PAC, youth as well as newlyweds’ sections in the curriculum.

Expected Outcomes

With the coordination of PI and WHO, Liaison with the provincial health and population ministries/Govt Authorities of;

  1. Sindh
  2. Punjab
  3. Balochistan
  4. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  5. ICT

along with AJK and FATA/PATA govts and conduct advocacy meetings regarding RTI curriculum revision. 

Conduct advocacy meetings (small meetings)

Co-create and implement the framework of the National Technical Advisory Group (TAG)

Review and provide feedback on FWW course outline, course timeline, eligibility criteria and clinical attachment mechanism Drafts developed by WHO

Provide feedback on FWW course outline, course timeline, eligibility criteria and JD Drafts.

Conduct and co-lead provincial consultative meetings on revised drafts of FWW course outline, course timeline, eligibility criteria and clinical attachment mechanism.

Attend WHO meetings regarding RTI curriculum revision.

Desired Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in public health (MPH) or social science required.
    • At least 10 years’ experience with reputed national and international organizations, focused on Public health and curricula development. 
    • Must work well in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Good liaison with Department of Health & PWD
    • Have worked on similar assignments previously.
    • Fluent in English, Urdu, good computer skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a cross-cultural, team-based global environment.
