Short Term - Engineer for Mechanical Work Inspection
Chemonics International is implementing USAID Small and Medium Enterprise Activity (SMEA) a five-year project that is supporting Pakistan in SME-led economic growth that will help create jobs, foster entrepreneurship, and contribute to an increased GDP. SMEA’s Challenge Fund (CF) has a portfolio of grants that supports innovators who are trying to solve challenges and scale solutions. As part of CF program, SMEA seeks short term professional consultancy services of a qualified mechanical/mechatronics engineer to review, guide and verify the machineries procured through grant support.
Responsibilities:
As directed by the supervisor for this position, or by the Chief of Party or his designee, the individual holding this position shall oversee, support the performance of, and perform when necessary the following specific tasks:
- Technically review and provide feedback on specifications of the machinery items being procured through the grant support.
- Inspect and validate the delivery and installation of the machinery.
Duration:
This is a part-time, the estimated level of effort of 15 days is anticipated during the term of assignment that is from February 01, 2020 till October 30, 2020. This assignment includes visits to the grantee locations which are mostly in Lahore with frequent travel to across Punjab & KPK.
Duty Post. Position will be based in Lahore with 50% to 70% field travel to across Punjab & KPK.
Qualification. The individual holding this position shall possess
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanics /Mechatronics the following:
- At least three years of experience working on inspections of mechanical machines related work.
- The incumbent should be registered with engineering council of Pakistan
- Good oral and written English language skills
