Communication Specialist

Relevant Experience & Qualification: 

• Minimum 05 to 7 years working experience in the field of development sector, particularly with international donor agencies, INGOs and NGOs working with women.
• Master degree in communication / journalism / Public relation or a related field is essential.   
• Excellent communication skill (written and verbal) and report writing in English.
• Excellent networking and coordination Skills.

Job Description:

The position is responsible for providing communication support in designing and developing communication materials and tools related to – Project titled “Women’s Increased Access to Water Resources and Agricultural Markets” in District Hyderabad, Tando Mohammad Khan and Badin. 

• Develop communication strategy and tools to be used for community outreach initiatives.
• Coordinate external and internal communications flow (memos, newsletters, success stories, concept notes etc.)
• To be able to manage social media portal, website and other mediums of communications
• Design and develop communication materials such as brochures, community conversation maps, banners, event backdrops etc.
• Test communication materials in field and incorporate feedbacks of the respondents.
• Have sound knowledge of using social media handles such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook page etc.
• Plan and develop material for events, seminars and press conferences as per project need.
• Communicate with print and electronic media regularly and build rapport with key media and radio officials.
• Build long-term relationships with influencers and key stakeholders such as project beneficiaries, government officials, media personnel and SPO regional and headquarter teams.
•  Coordinate with Sindh Irrigation Drainage Authority (SIDA), District Agriculture and Livestock department, representatives on human rights, and women rights for the effective implementation of project.
• Assist in drafting of TORs, concept, and script for video documentaries depicting success stories of project beneficiaries with excellent storytelling skills.
• Basic skills of photography, videography, designing and editing are must.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and bi-annual work plans and activity reports.
• Prepare and submit donor reports in time and meets all project deadlines.
