Major Responsibilities:

Expected to support the development of a communication strategy and tools to enhance knowledge dissemination and promote awareness on the issue of antimicrobial resistance in the human and animal health, food and agriculture sectors, in close collaboration with counterparts. The role includes but is not limited to the following:

 

  1. Design appropriate, culturally sensitive and audience specific strategies for engagement with policy makers, technical stakeholders and the general public to sensitize and disseminate relevant information on anti-microbial resistance, use and consumption while taking into account the purposes, skills, experience, preferences and circumstances of the audience
  2. Develop for the GoP a stakeholder engagement strategy and the communication and advocacy package for policy makers, other technical partners and the general public.
  3. Develop and produce communication and advocacy instruments and materials, including briefing materials, press releases, and articles and coordinate its dissemination through effective channels such as stakeholder meetings, print media and digital platforms
  4. Plan and Execute dissemination events under the Fleming Fund grant for the policy makers, other technical partners and the general public.
  5. Utilize various creative and media assets to raise awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) as a global issue and what individuals, communities and stakeholders can do to address the issue.
  6. Assist with the FF project communications, which include but are not limited to written, visual, verbal, digital and electronic communications. Duties include content development, proofreading and copy-editing advertisement and promotional materials, ensuring scientific accuracy, relevant to the project activities and events for both the web and social media outlets.
  7. Advise on and develop a social media engagement strategy to support the Government of Pakistan’s efforts in advancing AMR prevention and control interventions.

 

Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Languages etc.):

Essential:

  • Master’s degree in marketing, communications or media/journalism studies.
  • Demonstrated skills communicating in a credible and effective way with the ability to draft concise and informative documentation in English for a range of uses from detailed progress reports to media releases.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex material in a simple, understandable way
  • At least two to three years of communications, advocacy and/or media experience with an international organization or governmental multilateral delegation; demonstrable knowledge and skill with developing online and social media campaigns and thorough understanding of online media metrics

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of antimicrobial resistance for strategic advocacy and media/communications
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects and deliverables with firm deadlines
