Relevant Experience & Qualification: 

  • At least 7 years of practical experience and 3 years in relevant field.
  • Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine or Bachelors in Animal Husbandry with Masters in Livestock Management. (Master’s Degree will be preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge about Livestock management, agriculture extension or related field in Sindh province.
  • Excellent networking and coordination Skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills in English.

 Job Description:

The position is responsible for carrying out the office and field level activities related to – Project titled “Women’s Increased Access to Water Resources and Agricultural Markets” in District Hyderabad, Tando Mohammad Khan and Badin. 

  • Assist in conducting needs assessment and baseline surveys for the identification of beneficiaries.
  • Help in formation of livestock rearing women groups in the focused districts.
  • Capacity building of rural women on livestock management, nutritional deficiencies within livestock and selection of breed, vaccination, deworming and first aid.
  • Develop work breakdown plan and procurement plan in pursuance of livestock focused deliverables required by the project.
  • Maintain coordination and linkages with various stakeholders at district and project level.
  • Ensure project deliverables completed within time and in accordance with the specification standards and quantity requirements
  • Develop manual on livestock management and disseminate it for learning.
  • Co-ordinate and supervise inputs for those project activities concerned with the livestock
  • Co-ordinate with project officer and M&E section in finalization of periodic progress reports, success stories/case studies;
  • Organize vaccination  drives with the support of  livestock Department of Sindh in three selected districts
  • Strong Liaison with legislators/ parliamentarians and District government officials.
  • Organize policy advocacy and lobbying meeting with legislators for advocacy.
  • Contribute to the development of concept notes, project documents, project briefs and reports
  • Carrying out independent research/ data collection on project related researches
  • Ensure project deliverables completed within time and in accordance with the specification standards and quantity requirements
  • Providing technical support to the livestock owning women to carry out the advocacy plan, provide technical support and organize monthly and quarterly review meetings.
  • Following the work plan and meeting the targets as per plan.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and bi-annual work plans and activity reports.
