Duration of employment:  16 Months  

Project Description

Women Building Peace is a 16 month project conceptualised and designed to enable women to promote inclusive and sustainable peace building.

Key Responsibilities

• Building networks within local communities
•  Maintaining good working relationships with local communities
•  Identifying challenges that women are facing in their communities
• Conducting surveys and assessments of the beneficiaries to establish baseline data of the
• community
•  Facilitating small and large FGD (Focus Group Discussions) to identify the need of the
• committee
• Assisting in identifying members of the community that have influence and/or are working for
• peace and progress
• Assisting in developing awareness materials
•  Implementing risk mitigation and awareness activities
• Encouraging full participation by all community members, paying special attention to women
• Assisting in monitoring and evaluation of the program through the program cycle
•  Mobilizing the community and facilitating community dialogue
• Performing other tasks as requested by the program director

Education:

Masters

Experience:

5 years; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Knowledge of community mobilization methods and approaches; Respect for the local communities; Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Understanding of sensitivities of conducting outreach and awareness on CVE related issues.
