Location: Peshawar and Islamabad, Pakistan (able and willing to travel and/or work nationally)

Description

DAI is currently seeking applications for long-term positions for anticipated multi-year donor funded health sector programmes in Pakistan. Candidates with at least 8 years of experience of working on international development health programmes in one or more of the specialized technical and management fields listed below are encouraged to apply.

    • Financial management: with experience leading financial management of high value technical assistance programmes in challenging contexts; familiar with contract financial compliance and risk management of donors such as DFID and USAID. Experience  preparing project annual budgets, regular expenditure forecasts, monitoring expenditure and producing financial reports, and conducting/supporting financial audits. Qualified accountant – ACA, CPA, CIMA or from a recognized global body.
    • Operations, logistics, security management: With experience managing operation support functions for projects including procurement, logistics, travel and security in challenging/complex contexts. Able to demonstrate an understanding of logistics and procurement best practices and key donor rules and regulations regarding procurement procedures. Has insightful understanding of the security context of Pakistan and how to manage risks. Degree in management or related field with proven experience in project operations management
  • A good understanding of the challenges, roadblocks, opportunities and entry-points in Pakistan’s health sector, state-led health service delivery
  • Strong presentational skills, in both written and oral communication in English and Urdu are essential.
  • A professional, pleasant and solution-oriented attitude, with a passion for improving health sector services and outcomes –especially maternal and child health
  • Relevant experience of working with donor programmes funded by DFID and USAID
  • Able and willing to travel and/or work nationally.
  • Experience of working with government counterparts at federal/provincial level especially Ministry of Health
