Finance Intern

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Intern will be assisting in program execution across the project's support areas. Activities range from supporting administrative and technical needs. Below are illustrative tasks which describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the person assigned to this internship.

Intern will be responsible for the following tasks to support cross-cutting initiatives:

- Proper filing and scanning of vouchers and drafting reports for missing vouchers / supporting documents

- Ensure the proper charging of expenditures to relevant program/expenses head

- Preparation of GST cases along with the team

- Maintaining the GST Tracker

- Assist in checking and posting payment vouchers and resolving discrepancies

- Ensure the timely input of the data

- Ensure the maintenance of manual records of financial data

- Assist the Operations team in keeping an updated inventory and Procurement record

- Any other task assigned by the Manager

Internship competencies and objectives

The intern will work under Finance and Operations teams and learn about the operational processes and policies of Chemonics and USAID. Additionally, the intern will gain professional experience of working in a team of qualified individuals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• ACCA; Minimum Bachelors/ Master's degree in Finance or related discipline.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

• Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting

• Good research, organizational, record-keeping and presentation skills

• Good communication skills

Deliverables:

• Monthly progress on the ongoing tasks to the supervisor;

• A final report detailing the various tasks performed during the internship, highlighting recommendations for areas of improvement and stating the status of ongoing activities

 

HR Intern

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The HR team requires the services of an HR Intern on a full time basis to assist in their record maintaining activities and provide indispensable support and assistance to the project work plans including recruitment, new hire orientations, filing of documents, performance appraisals, timesheets. Below are illustrative tasks which describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the person assigned to this position.

HR Intern will be responsible for the following tasks to support cross-cutting initiatives:

  • Assist in the recruitment of short-term consultants, long term employees through tasks such as posting job openings, checking references, supporting interviews and coordinating with the finalized candidates with regards to the completion of essential documents.
  • Ensure timely timesheet submissions.
  • Compile and follow-up as required on paper work in relation to the probationary assessments.
  • Help maintain and update personnel files and other confidential HR documents in hard and soft formats.
  • Maintenance and updating of leave trackers, recruitment tracker, training tracker and other sections of the HR shared drive.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor or Director of Operations and Finance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors/ Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field. An Ideal candidate would be one who is aspiring to make a career in HR and willing to work full time under high pressure situations.
  • 1 year experience in relevant field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Good research, organizational, record-keeping and presentation skills

MIS Intern

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Intern will be the part of MIS team to gather system requirements, software engineering, software development, develop functional and technical documents, data analysis and conduct trainings.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gather software requirements.
  • Software Engineering.
  • Software Development using core PHP.
  • Database development using MYSQL / Postgres. 
  • User Interface designing.
  • Develop and document meeting minutes, functional and technical documentation.   
  • Partnering with other colleagues to bring forward new ideas and innovation.  
  • Assist in aligning of Business, Solutions.
  • Close coordination with other departments related to MIS.

Job Specifications

  • Minimum qualification – Bachelors in CS, IT, MIS or any relevant degree.
  • Strong software development, analytics, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have developed software using PHP and MYSQL.                                                                                                               


Research & Analytics Intern

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist the National Supply Chain Coordinators in implementation of workplan activities
  2. Support in doing public health supply chain related research and draft research papers
  3. Qualitative & Quantitative analysis supported with statistical inference of vaccines, MNCH commodities, contraceptives, basic health services and infectious diseases products stock sufficiency at all levels of the supply chain using SPSS and other statistical tools
  4. Validation of quality and integrity of data accumulated on the in-house LMIS
  5. Follow-up action on projects implementation activities and assist in preparing project weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports
  6. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

Communication Intern

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist the National Supply Chain Coordinators in knowledge management activities
  2. Support in developing press releases and social media profiles;
  3. Support in maintaining blogs, video feeds, trending social networking sites and resource centers
  4. Develop illustrations, info-graphics, layouts for project presentations, briefers, reports
  5. Assist in preparing project weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports
  6. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.
