Job Description:

Chemonics International seeks a qualified individual for the role of Team Leader for a multi-year DFID-funded programme based in Islamabad with operations in Punjab and KP provinces to improve tax collection and improve the business and trade environment to promote business growth and increased investment in Pakistan. Technical areas of support include tax policy, tax-related communications, investment promotion, business enabling environment regulatory reform, customs, trade facilitation and trade policy.

The ReMIT Trade Component Lead will be responsible for the management of customs and trade policy related activities. He/she will report to the ReMIT Team Leader.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Technical background in customs, trade policy, National Single Window, and experience in successful implementation of trade reform programmes.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and advanced degree in Economics, Business or related field.
• Understanding of the Government of Pakistan’s strategic trade policy framework.
• Ability to design training programs for customs officials and identify key infrastructure improvements to facilitate increased trade and remove non-tariff barriers to trade.

• Proven success working with multiple and diverse stakeholders on international development programmes.
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
• Proficiency in English and Urdu required.
