Monitoring and Evaluation Lead

Chemonics seeks a Monitoring and Evaluation Lead for the anticipated Sindh Education Programme (SEP), funded by the Department for International Development (DFID). SEP will have a strong focus on improving learning outcomes by improving the quality of teaching, ensuring poor and marginalised children are not left behind, and education systems are supporting learning, locking in gains of predecessor programmes and building a quality education system that promotes learning and inclusion. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement the overall M&E strategy and framework to track programme delivery against targets, outcomes, and impacts, working with education specialists and directly managing M&E staff in remote locations
  • Work with technical teams to develop appropriate indicators to assess the project’s progress
  • Ensure regular review of indicators by project staff as a continual improvement exercise
  • Serve as the programme’s focal point for coordination and collaboration with the supplier of independent evaluation, learning, and verification services
  • Overseeing development and implementation of project’s results framework and M&E strategy
  • Provide input for project reporting requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, international development, evaluation research, statistics, or a related discipline required; master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing and implementing M&E activities for large education or similar donor-funded programmes in developing countries
  • Firm command of the M&E issues with respect to improvements in quality and integrated education service and support programmes
  • Experience conducting and managing early grade reading, numeracy, and other educational assessments, including for learners with disabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English, and strong familiarity with Urdu and Sindhi preferred

The duration of this position is five years.
