Knowledge Management & Reporting Officer

Summary: Manages organization-wide knowledge management repositories and ensures access to and preservation of Pathfinder knowledge products. To support in development of technical and program report for project in Pakistan office including technical writing. Provide reference and research support to proposals and projects.

Key Job Outcomes:

  1. Project Documentation: Determines, plans, and ensures long-term preservation of organizational legacy products (technical documentation, communication materials) and provides access through knowledge management systems. Collaborates on organizational document management initiatives, particularly by providing guidance on identifying and transferring permanent records to the institutional archive.
  2. Programmatic Reporting and Technical writing:
  • To develop tools for transfer of technical information about project concepts, situations, products, services, or results to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge. Take support from technical resources within Pathfinder Pakistan office, as and when needed.
  • To support team in writing and editing reports or various audiences including donors, MoH partners, consortium partners and others. This also include editorial support, at times, to ensure coherence and language appropriateness during review different reports
  • To support communications team in delivering messages by evaluating the most appropriate media channel(s) for the particular needs of the target audience.

 

  1. Systems, Policies, Standards, and Guidelines: Implements plans specific to knowledge management, exchange, learning, documentation, and dissemination.
  2. Knowledge Management Tools. Manages organizational knowledge management repositories on Pathfinder’s intranet. Collaborates and assists communication unit in designing and implementing knowledge management systems using KM best practices.
  3. Knowledge Management Planning and Implementation. Works with team to develop KM/KE/Learning plans, including project design, appropriate selection of final project indicators, data sources, and plans to ensure effective implementation. Assists in planning and managing the information architecture and taxonomy of Pathfinder’s intranet.
  4. Knowledge Management Products. Contributes to the creation and dissemination of knowledge products (tech pubs, intake meeting, interviews, document review, writing, collaboration within MEL for data, reviews, collaboration with communities of practice). Supports technical assistance on information collection for documentation, packaging, and branding for visibility.
  5. Reference, Research, and Training: Provides reference and research support to proposals, projects, and general inquiries. Trains staff on accessing materials on both internal and external knowledge management repositories.

Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Knowledge Management Systems Development: Basic to intermediate skills in project knowledge management and programmatic reporting.
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Services: Advanced knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices and services of programs, including program strategies and indicators, and the latest professional developments in SRHR, including special challenges faced in the developing world, and related measurement issues.
  • PC Applications: Advanced ability to build knowledge management platforms and/or software applications.
  • Presentation Skills: Proven ability to make presentations on results to small and large groups.
  • Community Relations: Advanced skills in facilitating work relationships between partners, government officials, and communities.
  • Message Development & Delivery / Technical Writing:
    • Ability to write and edit to strategically develop messages for various audiences.
    • Ability to deliver messages by evaluating the most appropriate media channel(s) for the particular needs of the target audience.
    • Ability to transfer technical information about concepts, situations, products, services, or results to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Scientific Knowledge: Ability to maintain a basic level of biomedical/scientific knowledge and understanding of areas of research conducted and/or supported by the organization
  • Market Research: Ability to design, develop, execute, analyze and present findings from primary marketing research projects, both qualitative and quantitative. Ability to provide high quality reports and relevant insight that help to develop, position and launch new/existing programs and market the Pathfinder International brand.
  • Integrated Marketing Communication: Ability to integrate marketing communications strategy with business strategy. Ability to apply physical and digital communications tools in an integrated way.
  • Reputation Management: Ability to manage Pathfinder’s reputation through the alignment of people, processes and brand.
  • Product and Service Marketing: Knowledge of and ability to market a service, research findings, proposition or portfolio of services and research findings.

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in knowledge management, library science, information systems, social sciences or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies.
  • 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a combination of project reporting and/or research & monitoring and/or communication department

Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:

  • Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Languages: Proven writing and speaking skills using local and English language
