Programs under “Transforming Communities
for Peaceful Co-existence”

Background:

SPO is implementing a project “Transforming Communities for Peaceful Co-existence” in district Lahore and Faisalabad with broader goal of creating space and acceptance for cultural and social integrations among communities to promote diversity.

Specific Objectives of the TV shows are:

To produce and air 03 TV Talk Shows and 3 guest appearance on mainstream media on the identified issues contributing towards the promotion of inclusive society by strengthening acceptance and respect for diversity and unity through engagement of all stakeholders including youth, various faith actors and cultural activists.

Scope of Assignment:

Under the overall guidance of Head of programs and Program Team the Individual/Firm is likely to undertake the following tasks;

1. The selected Individual/Firm will be responsible for the production and broadcasting of 3 TV talk shows and 3 guest appearance in mainstream media in consultation with SPO regional team.
2. The duration of each program will be 40-45 minutes.
3. The Individual/Firm will be responsible for the provision of anchor person for the programs and his/her cost shall be covered in the agreed overall cost per show/program.
4. The programs will be recorded in different venues i-e educational institutions, Art Council, or any other communal place of cultural heritage.
5. Editing of programs will be the responsibility of Individual/Firm.
6. The Individual/Firm will develop program briefs in consultation with SPO program team assessing the sensitivities of subject/topics to make sure that the program contents are not controversial and have a greater impact over masses with regards to promoting diversity.
7. Programs will be recorded in Urdu/Punjabi language.
8. The Individual/Firm will be responsible for the digital promos and recording of testimonials during the recording of TV talk shows
9. The arrangements for outdoor programs will be the responsibility of Individual/Firm i.e. cameras, lighting, backdrop and any other equipment which is required for recording purposes.
10. The programs will be broadcasted on agreed upon times with SPO Regional team.
11. The Individual/Firm will provide recordings and transmission certificate of programs to SPO to measure the outreach of TV channel.
12. The Individual/Firm/TV channel will provide detail/links highlighting the outreach of each program/show.
13. Individual/Firm will be responsible to have the guests appearance on mainstream channels suggested by SPO Regional team 

Facilitation for the Individual/Firm:  

Regional Coordinator Lahore will be overall focal person to guide the consulting firm/team on respective and agreed assignments. 

1. Inception meeting with the selected Individual/Firm for detailed insights on the subjects and outcome of TV programs/shows.
2. SPO will identify and provide topics for TV programs.
3. SPO will be responsible for provision of guest speakers who will appear in the programs/shows. The Individual/Firm/TV channel may also suggest potential guest speakers.
4. SPO team on receipt will finalize the program briefing papers in consultation with the Individual/Firm making sure the content is in line with project theme and is free from any controversy.
5. SPO Lahore team will coordinate with selected educational institutions or other community places for the identifications of venues for outdoor programs.
6. The budget includes hall charges, bouquets, and refreshments of the guests panellists

Payments:

Payments shall be made on the basis of submitted invoices as per the following payment plan:

Payments will be made upon submission of deliverables to SPO, Regional Center, Lahore. Payments will be inclusive of all taxes as per law of the land.

Note: Honorarium for guest panellists will be paid by individual/firm.

The Individual/Firm applying for this assignment must have:

Major Deliverables:

Following are the key deliverables of the TV Talk Shows/ guests appearing on TV shows

• Complete Execution Plan, with preproduction, production, post production and broadcast timelines
• Three television programs produced for the project
• Broadcast of the three (3) Television programs on a mainstream television channel (s) & guests appearing on TV shows
• Share recordings of three (3) TV programs with SPO & guests appearing on TV shows and their recordings

Essentials of the Individual/Firm:

The Individual/Firm must have:

• Extensive experience, at least seven to ten years, of working in the domain of mass media production, especially in the genre of television talk shows;
• Proven track record of developing television advocacy programs;
• Proven experience of designing and executing television talk shows on social issues, preferably on Cultural and Social Integrations for the promotion of diversity
• Deep understanding and familiarity with issues pertaining to cultural and social integrations;
• Familiarity with overall diversity, cultural norms, preferences, traditions and dialects of different regions in Pakistan, especially of Punjab
• Mobility and willingness to work in Lahore and Faisalabad for the production and broadcasting of TV programs
• Resources to produce and broadcast high quality TV programs in Urdu/Punjabi language.
