MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

  1. Design and plan Adventure Tourism Guide Training materials including Training curriculum, Training Manual, Pre & Post test tools, Training Evaluation form, Presentations and trainees handouts
  2. Conduct practical training sessions on First Aid/Safety
  3. Conduct practical training on Rock-climbing/rope-work
  4. Conduct practical training on Hiking, trekking and camping
  5. Conduct sessions on tour guide processes
  6. Guide the trainees in formation of tour guide clubs and online marketing of tour guide services and marketing techniques
  7. Conduct sessions and demonstrations tourism, camping, maintain and ensure tourists safety and security, tourist points and sightseeing, map reading, hiking, scheduling
  8. Conduct practical training in Rock-climbing, trekking and camping
  9. Conduct interpersonal communication skills, life skills and soft skills sessions
  10. Facilitate in identification camping spots for practical trainings
  11. Conduct pre and post assessments
  1. Conduct training sessions as per approved schedules
  2. Develop and share detailed session plans
  3. Prepare and share the details of required training resource materials at least a week prior to the training
  4. Apply variety of training delivery techniques and strategies to train the trainees with respect to the required competencies
  5. Monitor trainees progress, prepare reports and share
  6. Manage trainees’ performance evaluation (formative & summative) and submit reports both hard & soft copies within one week of evaluation.
  7. Update trainee’s data as per the requirements of MIS. 
  8. Perform any other task assigned by line manager.

Qualification and experience                                     

  • Minimum bachelor degree; education in tourism development would be given preference.  
  • Having demonstrated experience in conducting First Aid/safety, Rock climbing, trekking trainings etc.
  • in-depth knowledge and awareness regarding eco-tourism, Adventure Tracking and Hacking  
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in training on Adventure Tourism, Mountain Climbing & Hacking
  • Familiarity with eco-tourism, adventure tour guides and camping village projects
  • Experience of working with NGOs/Training Institutions and Hotels and tourism industry
  • Excellent Computer Skills (MS Office) is mandatory
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills are must
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills are important, however, understanding about local dialects is also important
  • Sound judgment, flexibility, adaptability and cultural & gender sensitivity are the core values
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and strategies.
  • Self-motivated and having good sense of humor to motivate adults for learning and grooming.
