Solution Lead – Design
and Development for Cyber
Security

Job Purpose:

The candidate is expected to design and develop network monitoring and security applications, working with a team of developers and QA resources using ELK as a platform. This role involves 30% detailed design work and 80% hands-on integration/development work. The role presents an opportunity for the candidate to design and develop a world-class cybersecurity solution using open source technologies. The role can lead to a position of CTO depending upon the candidate performance over 18-24 months.

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical

1. Install and configure the Elastic Search, Logstash and Kibana (ELK stack) in a development environment, and integrate with multiple data sources
2. Set up Kibana dashboards per product/customer requirements
3. Design, Install and integrate ingestion pipelines, integration APIs and provide Elastic Search tuning/optimizing based on application needs.
4. Operations and tuning – Proactively monitor data flow with a focus on continuous performance improvement.
5. Design solutions that are complete in all respects: infrastructure, network, database, application and business intelligence to ensure high data quality and availability in production.
6. Support product and architecture development by performing requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of required open source tools, and integration (with both new and legacy systems).
7. Develop and maintain software development technical documentation

 Leadership

1. Provide technical leadership for development projects
2. Provide governance, direction and mentorship to the team.

5. Prepare work effort estimates and development task scheduling after analyzing product/ business requirements
6. Enterprise-class solution development
7. Drive quality assurance, security and high availability of the solution

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Demonstrable experience of systems and networks with a strong focus on; Routing and Switching, Systems security, Redhat Linux Administration
2. Deep knowledge of required programming languages and tools, including Java/Python, and associated web development standards, languages and frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful services, JSON), Javascript frameworks such as Angular/ JS Angular
3. Experience with Database (relational and NoSQL)
4. Experience with Elastic Stack
5. Good experience with different IDE's, build & automation tools like Eclipse, STS, and GitHub, JIRA.
6. Familiarity with BI tools – Spotfire / Splunk
7. Expertise around SIEM, traffic monitoring, internet access management,
8. Demonstrable analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical design
9. Complete product life cycle experience.
10. Ability to work with minimal guidance and desire to take ownership of deliverables
11. Ability to drive technical teams to deliver solutions in accordance with design and timeline
12. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
13. Ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal directing from a supervisor.
14. Strong verbal and written communicating skills, problem-solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

Experience, Qualification and Certification

1. 10+ years of hands-on experience required
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
3. Certifications

1. Security Certifications/Training including SSCP, CISSP, CCSP or equivalent
2. Networking Certifications like CCIE, CCNP or equivalent
3. Cloud Certifications AWS, Redhat or equivalent.
