Position Objectives:

Lead in Delivery of all aspects of the engineering elements the disaster risk management Project. Ensure that engineering is carried out to the highest possible technical level using up to date information and creative techniques. Specification and design of engineering works.

Ensure that all engineering work (structural mitigation projects,delivered meet the requirements of the donor and communities.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

• Lead on assessment of structural projects in the projects area. Preparing reports, designs and drawings and using a range of computer software for developing detailed designs

• Technical advice and lead in document assessments and surveys in detailed reports.
• Support and enable engineering team to complete designs and assessments within given time
• Draw up detailed designs for the mitigation measures that are identified through the hazards risk assessment process. These will include designs for land slide, floods, flash floods mitigations and water resource management related interventions.
• Facilitate the process of agreeing final requirements obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval and designs mitigation schemes with engineering consulting firms and donors.
• Making sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety and assessing the sustainability and environmental impacts of project
• Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors

Education

BE (Civil)/ B. Tech (Civil) from HEC recognized Institution/ University

Experience

• Minimum 3years of relevant experience for BE (Civil) and 5 years of relevant experience for B. Tech (Civil)
• Working experience with Red Cross Red Crescent Movement/ humanitarian/ rescue and relief organization will be an advantage
• PRCS Volunteers having required qualification, experience and skills will be preferred 

Skills/Knowledge

• Have knowledge of community mobilization and conflict resolution
• Fluency in spoken and written in Urdu/ Hindko& English
• Good command on Microsoft Office and SPSS
