An international nonprofit organization that works with people around the world to empower the disadvantaged, increase economic opportunity, and sustain natural resources seeks applications for the position of Female Training Officer.

Job Description:

  • Identify women existing role in the selected value chain namely banana, dates, chili & tomato from production to post-harvest management and marketing.
  • Review findings of the study on Post-harvest Market Analysis for Horticulture in Punjab & Sindh especially the section on Role of Gender; some of the roles identified therein include sowing/transplanting, weeding, harvesting, grading & packing, etc. 
  • Conduct training need assessment across the value chain clearly identifying weaknesses that hamper work efficiency and in turn remunerations. 
  • Identify needs for provisions of small equipment/tools that will directly contribute in improving work efficiency and consequently remunerations.
  • Estimate training targets and design work plan for their accomplishment.
  • Develop training curricula/modules/material in English and Urdu containing mainly pictorial illustrations for better understanding of trainees who are hardly literate.
  • Develop comprehensive strategy and methodology for delivery of trainings.
  • Deliver interactive & field based practical trainings for better learning and improvement of trainees’ skills.
  • Develop reports for internal use and sharing with donor as required.

Relevant Experience:

  • At least graduate in agriculture, horticulture or food sciences
  • 2 to 3 years work experience of conducting trainings in agriculture sector
  • Good understanding and knowledge of farming sector in Pakistan especially the role of women
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good ability to communicate in local language
  • Willing to travel to remote areas and working in rural environment 
  • Able to produce high quality work under pressure and deadlines.
