Position:              Senior Training and Development Officer (Senior Trainer)

Specific Responsibilities:

 

Program Development and Expansion:

  • Identify training and development needs through market analysis, baseline data and consultation with training participants, their line managers and human resources department.
  • Ensure quality of training contents are in-line with commitment made in the project documents and contextualize the trainings according to the needs of local and national level organization. Provide continuous support for systematic learning of participating organizations.
  • Monitor, review and measure the progress of trainees through questionnaires, surveys and discussions with managers.
  • Use blended learning approach for capacity building including e-learning modules,, be involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages.
  • Develop training invitation package for e-circulation.
  • Conduct baseline / needs assessment exercise for all trainings and develop reports for sharing with Resource Person and management.
  • Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and use this research for improving training packages.
  • Support teams in developing concepts, brochures and invitation packages.
  • Decide the best training contents / approaches to meet the needs of the organization as highlighted in the baseline /needs assessment.

Training, Advocacy Accompaniment and Capacity Building:

  • Take overall responsibility for the design, implementation, evaluation and enhancement of training, capacity building support under the CEP project at the regional and national levels.
  • Design training sessions and take lead in delivery of trainings along with support of other resource persons. 
  • Work to systematize and standardize training and advocacy support methodologies, materials and resources, making them more comprehensive, accessible and consistently high quality.
  • Consult with other resource persons, CSOs and program staff to ensure that training, capacity building and advocacy support initiatives are relevant and adapted to the situation and needs of target groups.
  • Design and implement training and development program based on the organizational level needs:
  • Take lead in planning, managing & facilitating the training events.
  • Coordinate with Lead Trainer for smooth implementation of the trainings.
  • Develop training modules, session plans, manuals and promotional materials.
  • Design training sessions and deliver trainings on advocacy skills, tools and approaches at national and regional level. 
  • Support program staff in the design, delivery and evaluation of training, capacity building and advocacy support activities.
  • Evaluate and follow up on training, capacity building and advocacy support activities with a view to reinforcing capacities, assessing impact, and building partnerships and networks. 

Information and Resources Management:

  • Coordinate with Communications Team to research, draft, design and deliver information products/resources for quality education & advocacy trainings, including training manuals, write-ups, and case studies.
  • Expand and enhance the range of online training resources on education; and advocacy for CSOs in Pakistan and in region.


Job Requirements:

Qualification/Experience:

  • For the position Senior Training and Development Officer, a Master degree in social sciences (International Relation, Political Science, Development Studies etc) or Human Resource Management combined with practical aptitude.
  • A minimum of 05 years work experience in humanitarian and development sector, at least half of which should have been related to capacity building program, including experience of managing or conducting training on pedagogy of teaching and/or advocacy.

Skill/Competencies:

  • Proven experience of delivering Training/Workshops for mid-large level civil society organizations.
  • Knowledge of Advocacy initiatives, models and approaches used in humanitarian and development organizations at national and regional levels.
  • Provide road map and support in revision of policies & systems to support and promote advocacy initiatives.
  • Designing & developing consultative and participatory approaches for working with program participants.
  • Networking skills to link with national and regional networks to promote localization of aid agenda and strengthen voice on CSO at different levels (with regional networks ADRRN and ICVA etc.).
  • Excellent Facilitation Skills & contents development for training on Rights Based Advocacy for Change approach and Education.
  • Experience coordinating the production of reports, briefing papers, manuals and e-newsletters, including the drafting and editing of contents.
  • Experience using online program management tools would be an advantage.
  • A strong commitment to, and passion for, the principles and practice of rights based advocacy for change.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively, flexibly and effectively in a small, dynamic international team.
  • Ability to think and act quickly, creatively and strategically under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with proficiency in local languages being a significant advantage.
  • Capacity and interest to travel to different location for delivery of training and follow up support to CSOs.
  • Experience in managing and supporting colleagues from a distance.
  • Advance level computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel & Power-point.
