1.    Identification

2.    Purpose of the position:

The purpose of the position is to support Country Representative in reporting, management, program development, communication, information management and coordination of projects in Pakistan. The post holder will also act as Technical advisor for projects (Education with focus on non-formal education, Child Protection and WASH) and will extend technical backstopping where needed.

 

3.    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

The Program Coordinator will support and assist the Country Representative in the effective management of the implementation of all project activities by providing relevant information and support. He/she will be the Focal point of all the communications between Solidar Country Office and project staff. He/ She will provide guidance and support to the field teams in all aspects related to the implementation of Solidar projects.

Reporting (25%)

  • To collect periodical monthly activity reports from the Field Offices/Partners and merge them in a comprehensive and detailed monthly Situation Report (Sitrep) to be submitted to the Country Representative, in order to report on the progress of all project activities.
  • Develop interim, quarterly and final reports of projects
  • To ensure that all materials and information needed for the drafting of regular and final Reports to donors, government departments and headquarters are collected and submitted in time.
  • To fulfil any other ad hoc reporting request put forward by the Country Representative or other authorized personnel.

Coordination and Information Management (25%)

  • To ensure that the monthly work plans are properly implemented together with the input of the M&E Officer/Project Managers and technical Staff based in field areas.
  • To support the Project Managers/M&E Officer and technical staff in the design and Implementation of project tools and methods including but not limited to surveys, baseline and evaluations
  • To support and manage and implement monitoring and evaluation systems in close Coordination with the Programme Manager and M&E Officer/s for the activities and to train the respective National staff in this regard. In case of implementation through a national partner Organization, PC with coordination of M&E officer will monitor and evaluate the activities according to the allocated resources, Respective budget, agreed work plans and M&E frameworks.
  • To closely coordinate and facilitate all activities with the respective provincial and local Government authorities, clusters/working groups, and other agencies on Islamabad level and in the project areas to ensure the full integration and non-duplication of Solidar activities in the local context.

Technical Backstopping and Capacity Development (40%)

  • Conduct trainings and capacity building sessions for internal and partner staff  
  • Provide technical backstopping to project team in the planning, implementation and management of WASH, Non Formal Education and DRR projects in Pakistan
  • Take lead in the development of project related tools, surveys and IEC material.
  • Represent organization at national forums, NACG, CAN, DRR Forum,school safety network  NDMA etc.
  • To conduct capacity building trainings for the field staff whenever necessary/required.
  • To consider the possibility for Solidar staff to improve and expand their capacity and skills by pursuing internal/external training opportunities.

Communication and Program Development (10%)

  • Develop project briefs, case studies, human interest and success stories of the projects
  • Provide support in the development of concept notes and project proposals.
  • To be proactive in keeping the Country Representative regularly informed about the Plans, challenges and progress in implementation.

In addition to the laid out terms, the Program Coordinator is responsible to fulfil any additional duties put forward by his line manager/other authorizing personnel.

 

 

 

4.    Supervisory  Responsibilities:

  • None

 

5.    Education/Professional Designations/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Development Studies/related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with INGOs/NGOs in areas of WASH, Non Formal Education, Child Protection and DRR.
  • Proven experience with large institutional donors.
  • Proven experience in project management, design and implementation.
  • Strong proposal development and report writing skills.
  • Expert level skills in usage of MS Word, Excel and other office applications.

 

6.    Language Skills:

  • Strong communications skills (oral and written). 
  • Fluency in English both reading and writing is a prerequisite.

 

7.    Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent travel to field areas in Islamabad and Lahore (about 30 - 40%).

 

8.    Other Specific Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of people.
