PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Natural Resource Management Officer shall be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing the operation plan of Agro-forestry project among target communities under the guidance of the Project Coordinator through the collaboration of community-based or village organizations facilitated by Community Development Officers located in World Vision Pakistan program operational areas.
Major Activity:
• Planning and implementing Environmental and Natural Resource Management assessment surveys in earthquake affected communities assisted by World Vision and ensuring that relevant data is provided to ascertain the impact of program activities on the communities in the operational areas with project team
• Develop local strategies for use and conservation of agriculture and natural resources with broad community and stakeholder participation
• Conduct strategic planning for agro-forestry and NRM at various levels in collaboration with relevant government line departments
• Develop methodologies and techniques for assisting farmers with planning and execution of Agro-forestry interventions which will help to improve the environment at community, village and Tehsil levels to ensure the sustainability of the Natural Resources.
• To conduct land used scale assessment with household for planning and design of project implementation.
• To conduct capacity building programs for community and line agencies on natural resource management and environmental conservation
• With the approval of Supervisor, represent the WV Pakistan and the Livelihoods program at Professional meetings, workshops and conferences that are deemed to be useful to WV
• Obtain strategy guidance from the Project Coordinator and execute/implement the same in the area through Community Development officers and functional community-based/village organizations.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports of Agro-forestry interventions being implemented in the target areas
• Conduct and arrange extension training courses, refresher courses, field days and exhibitions etc with the help and facilitation of the Project coordinator.

Minimum education requirements;
• University Degree, preferably to B.Sc. Level in Agriculture/Forestry related disciplines with demonstrated and practical knowledge of livelihoods concepts, Agro-forestry, NRM, and alternate fuel technologies
• 2-3 years working experience with rural communities in Agriculture or forestry production, range and pasture management.

• Familiarity with NWFP province and knowledge of local geographical setting of Area.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Good computer skills including familiarity with MS Office
