The Population Council Islamabad office needs the services of two female anthropologists for a period of 12-8 weeks for its Community Midwifery Operations Research (OR) project.  This OR project is planned to be carried out in 6-8 selected districts in all 4 provinces.  The suitable candidate she will assist the PI in designing and coordinating the qualitative research in the project districts on community women (women of reproductive age and older). Specific responsibilities include the following:

Qualitative Research

  1. Design the FGDs in the project districts and prepare group discussion guidelines.
  2. Coordinate and monitor FGDs in the respective districts.
  3. Coordinate with district teams on the process of transcription of FGDs.
  4. Plan and carry out analysis of the FGDs.
  5. Write report of the qualitative research.

Qualifications

  1. Masters’ degree in anthropology/social sciences with at least 2 years of related experience.
  2. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  3. Excellent English language writing skills, including ability to develop qualitative research reports; fluency in Urdu, and local language Punjabi desirable.
  4. Relevant IT skills related to accomplishing qualitative research tasks.
  5. Research educational background and experience.
  6. Strong organizational skills for management and implementation of qualitative research.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively and to meet deadlines
