Relevant Experience: 

  • Master’s Degree / Professional Qualification in Finance and Accounting
  • Accounting Software QuickBooks, especially Cost Point (Updated versions)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in finance and accounting preferably in USAID funded project
  • Project, finance and contract management experience
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Familiarity with Internet resources, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Good English written and spoken skill

Job Description:

This position responsible for the daily function of accounting including overseeing generating of financial reports, filing tax returns, and other finance and accounting related issues. The position will work under the supervision of the Director Finance & Administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Review all financial transactions and ensure complete documentation in compliance with IRD policies.
  • Supervise Petty cash payments and ensure effective replenishment system at Karachi and Sukkur office.
  • Track Advances and ensure timely liquidation of advances against the expenses.
  • Responsible for coordination with the auditors at the time of audit and financial reviews.
  • Preparation of tax reconciliation statements and deal with other taxation related matters which are in compliance with the laws of Pakistan.
  • Ensure with the tax compliance rules of USAID and timely reporting.
  • Ensuring accurate schedules for monthly /weekly closing of books
  • Ensure effective review and processing of monthly salaries, severances and other payments.
  • Coordination with departments to ensure compliance matters in the light of IRD manuals and USAID regulations.
  • Administrating QuickBooks accounting system and generate different reports for the management.
  • Prepare reports from excel through pivot tables and advanced level formulas
  • Ensure Monthly Expense Report, Cash Count and Bank Reconciliation
  • Ensure that project funds, petty cash, cheque books are secure and accounted for.
  • Preparing and ensuring effective weekly/monthly financial reports to H.Q with the specific deadline.
  • Ensure effective cash management systems to facilitate the project payments both at Karachi and Sukkur office.
  • Coordinate with banking channel in order to ensure smooth cash management at Karachi and Sukkur office.
  • Review IRD policies in the light of USAID regulations and recommend policy and procedural changes on periodic basis.
  • Any additional assignment given and reports required by DF&A
