Job Title:                   Manage Accounts

Reports To:                Senior Manager Accounts

Duty Station:             Head Office - Lahore

Job Summary & Specific Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Manager Accounts will be responsible for relating to financial reporting, but not limited to following:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial reports ((Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, Profit & Loss statement, Budget vs. Actual, Summarized Management Report etc.) in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements as per IAS and ASF policy
  • Assist in annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Senior Management; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the company’s financial status
  • Develop and recommend accounting and budgeting policies and procedures
  • Supervise financial transactions on day to day basis
  • Reconcile bank account and investment statements on monthly basis
  • Prepare allocation spreads for indirect expenses as needed
  • Manage investments according to ASF’s investment policy and develop investment goals
  • Ensure maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard assets and assure reliability of financial statements
  • Ensure filing of periodic returns (Withholding Tax, Sales Tax etc.) with concerned authorities; manage / renew ASF’s tax exemption under different section of Income Tax ordinance and Rules
  • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual
  • Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the management.

Qualifications / Experience

  • CA Inter / MBA Finance / 16 years of education in accounts
  • Minimum 06 years' experience related to the above duties and responsibilities, including articles. Experience of working with International NGOs, donor agencies, or other reputed international development organizations will be a plus
  • The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination
  • Previous experience of selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software
  • Knowledge of IAS, IFRS, Companies Ordinance 1984, Income Tax Ordinance 2001, and other relevant frameworks and laws
  • Relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated use of word processing, database and presentation software (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Excellent writing and communications skills in English
