RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Responsibilities: Under supervision of the head of the programme, the CVE Technical Advisor is responsible for: 

  • Providing in-depth and conceptual input from a CVE lens to overall country programme strategy as well as regional programme strategies and work plans.
  • Providing CVE-specific advice and information to programme staff and partners and activity development theories and assumptions; assisting in the identification of programme opportunities and potential local partners.
  • Designing and developing research initiatives as requested in support of the achievement of CVE goals and objectives and contributing to the analysis of activities and programme level impacts;
  • Provide timely analysis and reporting support to the donor as requested on CVE issues and policy.
  • Assisting the M&E Officer and the donor’s independent Monitoring Unit to incorporate M&E learning into the activity development cycle; distilling lessons learned for activity development staff.
  • Traveling within Pakistan to visit field offices.

MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current programme principles, concepts, practices, methods, and techniques of CVE.
  • A minimum of five (5) years working on countering violent extremism, or related field is required.
  • Experience working on countering violent extremism in a range of countries is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Pakistani context at the national and local levels; previous experience working in Pakistan or on Pakistan issues is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting and representing ideas with a range of stakeholders including donors and government officials.
  • Fluency in written and oral English is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Proficiency in relevant local languages is desirable but not required.
  • University degree in a relevant field desired, but not required.

This is a contingent position based on funding from the donor.
