Finance Assistant/Cashier

Scope of Work

• Process of all cash transactions from Petty Cash Account.

• Transfer of cash from the bank to the office and ensure the security of project fund.

• Maintain the security of appropriate keys/combinations of the safes in the office.

• Maintain a petty cash advance register and report to the Finance Manager on any outstanding advance not settled within a working day.

• Ensure that proper approval signatures are obtained and that both parties: Payer and Receiver verify the cash amount of the transaction.

• Ensure that all cash transactions are entered into FER by Field Accountants and verify the accuracy of cash entries in the ledger.

• Reconcile Petty Cash on a daily basis together with the Finance Manager or Field Accountants; also make the cash reconciliation in every fifteen days/as required for replenishment.

• Keep all salary related information/documentation strictly confidential.

• Verify that documentation submitted to Finance for payment is approved and complete for processing.

• Maintain/ organized project financial related documentation.

• Ensure that financial files are labeled, organized and secured in accordance with USAID and DAI rules and regulations.

• Assist in processing all staff travel Per diem.

• Assist in salary process of STTA staff (Grants & Ops).

• Assist Field Accountants to Review Grant’s payment vouchers.

• Maintain FER for Petty Cash account.

• Scanning the monthly back-up documentation & upload to DAI portal Box system.

• Other tasks as required by supervisor.

Qualifications

• B.A. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility in finance and accounting, office administration, project operations at the mid-level of an organization
• Fluency in English and Urdu. Proficiency in Sindhi preferred.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
