I. Training for Statistical Package for Social Sciences
World Vision International – Pakistan strives to serve the children and their communities in the best possible manner applying the approaches and methods those are robust and tested. For the said purpose and effective decision making World Vision International – Pakistan always focuses on the credible evidence to make programming and management decisions. World Vision International – Pakistan has always invested in the developing capacities of its teams to gather evidence and report it in a manner that can be used effectively by the variety of the stakeholder. With the aim to better deliver its 2015-17 strategy World Vision International – Pakistan is aiming to a five days training of its staff in SPSS.
A. Purpose and Objectives of the Assignment
World Vision International – Pakistan aim to train the program staff in SPSS to make sure all the data and information is handled, processed and analyzed in compliance to internal standards. The management has credible evidence to use in the program decision to better serve the children and their communities. Objectives the training are:
- Staff has understanding of SPSS concepts those are critical for the data organization, analysis and interpretation.
- Staff understands what different functions and utilities to be used for different kind of data and analysis requirements.
- Staff members are able to use findings of different tests and utilities in their write-ups and presentations.
B. Methodology
The consultant will design a detailed methodology for the training keeping in view the objectives of the training to maximize the opportunities for the trainees to learn and implement the ideas.
C. Statement of Work
- 2 days for the preparation of the course outline and finalization of the contents and also for the detailed training methodology.
- Five days training.
D. Training Dates and Location
Training will be held from Sep. 05~09, 2016 at Islamabad.
E. Remuneration and Reporting
Consultant will propose daily rate for this assignment. Consultant will not be admissible for any more expenses than agreed daily rates. The consultant will report to World Vison International – Pakistan MEAL Manager.
F. Logistics
All the arrangement will be consultants own responsibility. World Vision International – Pakistan will only take care for following:
- Facilitation/aids required in delivering the training.
- Stationary and software suites for the participants to practice.
- Day time meals and tea for the consultant.
G. Required skills and Experience
- Masters or a higher degree (at least 18) in statistics from a renowned national/international university.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the application of SPSS with reputable international business outfit, research institution or International Non-governmental organization.
- Proven experience of training in experience of training INGOs, UN and other reputable
- Very effective communicator with the ability to manage a diverse group of participants.
- Understanding of the social sector SPSS application requirements.
- Possesses profound knowledge of quasi-experimental research design.
