ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The Pakistan centre for philanthropy (PCP) is a nonprofit public service organization with a mandate to promote the volume and effectiveness of philanthropy for development in Pakistan.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITES

The SPO - PSS will directly reporting to the Executive Director PCP.

JOB PREVIEW

The SPO – PSS will be responsible for the implementation of the Philanthropy Support Services Programme of Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). Working under the overall supervision of the Senior Manager, the SPO’s role will be to provide assistance in the planning, designing and delivery of the PSS Programme that aims to develop viable, practical and sustainable linkages with international partner organizations, corporate philanthropist, government, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and the beneficiary communities for supporting the social sector development in Pakistan. As a development professional with significant experience of working with the corporate sector, government, CSOs and the communities at grassroots level, the SPO will be involved on a full time bases in the PSS unit.

JOB DESCRIPTION (TOR’S)

  1. Familiarizing with the overall concept and strategy for effective management of philanthropy support services programme.
  2. Overall supervision and management of Philanthropy Support Services programme to ensure smooth running. Designing campaigns and continuously incorporating strategic modifications to keep the programme active and robust.
  3. Day-to-day management of grants made under various partnerships; identification of opportunities; presentations and correspondence with the potential partners to explore the possibility of collaboration; reviewing and writing quarterly progress reports and ensuring timely reporting to donors
  4. Providing quality input to research programme and identifying new areas for future studies; working in close liaison with the certification unit to strengthen the governance parameters for certification of NPOs;
  5. Develop a fundraising tool kit for CSOs and Create a fundraising manual for PCP to conduct bi-annual trainings.
  6. Assisting the management to position PCP within the corporate sector as the prime partner in development and delivery of philanthropy and partnership programmes.
  7. Marketing to the corporate and other stakeholders the significance of philanthropy in general and of public private partnerships in rural primary education in particular.
  8. Reviewing literature to identify national and if possible international best practice, and conducting consultations with all stakeholders
  9. Identifying, contacting and meeting the relevant entities (corporate/foundations) to ascertain their interests in funding thematic and geographical areas and communities.
  10. Assist the management along with the support of the PCP certification Team to identify functional, credible, efficient and transparent CSOs that have the willingness and capacity to serve for social development in Pakistan, programme management and reporting.
  11. Understanding appropriate monitoring mechanisms that satisfy the requirements of the key stakeholders: corporate donors, local communities, government and PCP and implementation of such mechanisms.
  12. Become fully familiar with the provisions and obligations of the donor contract relating to programme activities.
  13. Assisting the Programme Manager to prepare timely submission of interim and final reports to the donor.
  14. Provide input for PCP’s overall institutional development.
  15. Work closely with the Communication and Partnership Unit on development of Media activities for the promotion of the programme activities.
  16. Any other relevant task assigned by the Executive Director.

MINIMUM EDCUATION & EXPEREINCE

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences or other development studies from any HEC recognized reputed University of Pakistan. Preference will give to the foreign qualified candidates.
  • 05 – 07 Years Experience required
