Purpose of Job:

This Peshawar Based Position is a challenging position based in Country Office- Peshawar and reporting to the Country Director. To manage local financial and administrative matters in accordance with the donor’s contract and Organization requirements (as per the Project's Operations Manual and Financial Guidelines).

Relevant Experience:

  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA-Finance)/M.Com/ACCA or Equivalent.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • In-depth experience of taxation and accounting software QuickBooks
  • Experience of working in a stressful environment and with multiple sectors.
  • Must speak Pashtu, Urdu and English
  • Strong communication skills (both interpersonal and writing)
  • Experience working with NGO/INGO’s, donors, and consultants.

Job Description:

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure that accurate accounting records are maintained in a computerized accounting system.
  • Supervise payroll processing and management of government payroll tax remittances for locally engaged staff (and other taxes as per government regulations).
  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasting and reporting of financial transactions of the organization in Pakistan to Organization.
  • Ensure the transmission of all required financial reporting data and backup to the Organization head office. Ensure accurate and timely cash flow and reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Oversea the preparation of accurate and timely budgets, including reporting on budget variances.
  • Develop finance and administrative policies and procedures as required and ensure strict adherence to the project's Operations Manual by organization staff.
  • Maintain accurate and complete procurement files.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of contracts for locally hired service contracts.
  • Supervise finance staff.
  • Provide assistance, as required, to WFP/UNICEF/USAID’s or Organization monitors and auditors.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Organization field staff on financial and administrative matters.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff and consultants for the organization office, as per organization Operations Manual.
  • Oversea the efficient maintenance of financial filling systems.
  • Performing such other duties as assigned in support of the Peshawar office, and of Organization.
