A USAID-funded project, located in Islamabad urgently requires the services of appropriately qualified individual, on part-time consultancy contract, as per following detail.

Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist

This short term induction is likely to contunue till April 2016.

The QA Specialist will develop and execute exploratory tests as well as automated tests on our web applications in order to ensure software quality. He/She will estimate, plan, and coordinate testing activities. He/She will also ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Review Scoping documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
2. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
3. Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
4. Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
5. Prioritize test cases to ensure the highest risk and most important test cases are executed first.
6. Use standard testing techniques along with latest testing tools and software.

Requirements

1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
2. At least 2 years of experience in software quality assurance
3. Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
4. Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
5. Ability to work independently with little direction
6. Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
7. Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
8. Excellent verbal & written communication skills
