Background: The position is for an international development project working to deliver social infrastructure across Pakistan.

 

Position Summary: This position is responsible to provide and support a full Security Control Operation Room in a 24 hour response environment – utilizing and operating all the systems within the operation room, ensuring that all requests for assistance are attended too and that all electronic systems are operating to their optimum. To operate and monitor all systems, including CCTV, within the Operation Room in a professional and efficient manner. To ensure integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information.

 

Location: Islamabad

 

Reporting and Supervision: This position reports to Director Security/Duty of Care Director.  

 

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensuring that the Ops Room remain secure at all times and that no unauthorized person enter the Ops Room.
  • To maintain 24 – hour communication with all IMC locations and with all supervisors and managers.
  • Alarm Response dispatch. Mobilizes appropriate resources.
  • Incident Reporting
  • Emergency Management / Liaising with Emergency Services
  • Undertakes Emergency Call Handling.
  • Monitoring all entrance doors that enter into the secured area of the facility. Also, monitoring and controlling all of the doors at provincial office locations.
  • Ensuring the surveillance monitors are observed at all times.
  • Monitoring of all fire alarms within the office.
  • Functioning as a dispatcher for assigning driver/transport to the expatriates after office hours.
  • Ops Room operators are to ensure that location reports from each location are obtained as per the laid down timings and documented.
  • At the commencement of each shift for each location, the ops room operator is to verify that required manpower has been deployed.
  • The Ops room operator must record all information reported to the ops room.
  • The Ops room operator, in the event of being notified of a major incident, is to take immediate action in accordance with standard incident procedure. The ops room operator must record all instructions received in the instruction book and all incidents in the occurrence book.
  • The information board should be kept up to date with any incoming information which is not recorded elsewhere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum Bachelors;
  • Basic IT skills with a working knowledge of the range of MS Office packages and knowledge of electronic security systems including CCTV/Radio/Tracker
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, plan, and organize.
  • Ability to proficiently communicate verbally and in writing using the English language.
  • Experience of security control room operations within an organization.
  • Experience of writing procedures, drafting reports and duty rosters.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Ability to works rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
