General Functions

The grants writer will be working under the overall supervision of the Chief of Party and working directly with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The grants writer will be responsible for providing support in terms of grant-closure, preparation and writing of all new grants and project proposals. The grant writer will be compiling the comprehensive and all other grant related reports, documentation and donor correspondence.  

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support in terms of the grant closing process
  • Review and edit Final Evaluation Reports (FERs) submitted by field staff in order to obtain a document that agrees with donor requirements
  • Coordinate with M&E and other program units to obtain necessary information required for grant closing purposes.
  • Coordinate with Operations and other program units to obtain necessary information required for grant writing purposes.
  • Compile the comprehensive report on a weekly basis as well as the quarterly and annual reports, and others as necessary.
  • Compile ‘success stories’ reflecting program impact.
  • Request and review information from the Field staff, Technical Unit, Operations Unit, M&E Unit or the field
  • Support the M&E Officer and Supervisory in the collection of additional information from the field as required.
  • Record all internal and external M&E findings, lessons learned and recommendations for regular follow-up.
  • Edit and verify the online web based database according to the information of the FER and conduct the verifications described in the Internal Closing Manual
  • Ensure up-to-date and accurate information pertaining to regional background and overviews for grants.
  • Organize and maintain program records and documentation on file for tracking and reporting.
  • Submit grants for clearance, maintenance of grant projectization cost tracking sheet and any other assigned duty. Verify that all the documentation and/or questions stated by the donor are addressed.
  • Work respectfully, cooperatively, equally, and fairly with people within and outside of the organization.

 Qualification and Experience   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • Grants Writer must have a minimum of two years experience of working with community development project implementation; should have excellent writing skills and knowledge of FATA areas its government structure and geography. The Grants Writer must have the capacity to understand and analyze national, regional, and local politics, and the creativity and analytical capacity to design and implement grants with the interface between government and communities.
  • Experience in research is a plus

 Languages 

  • Fluency in English is required, Urdu and Pushto is a plus.
