PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position will ensure the implementation of the conflict prevention strand in Pakistan (i.e coordinating the roll out of the conflict methodology pilot) through implementing partner over the three years of the project. It will be employed by World Vision Pakistan as the lead agency. 

Major Activities:

A. Input into design and contextualisation of new conflict methodology.

  • Methodology is appropriate for implementing partner to pilot in 5 communities  

B. Coordinate the pilot through advising, overseeing & monitoring the implementing partner’s implementation of the pilot new methodology in 5 communities and ensure their capacity is sufficient to undertake this.

  • Arrange implementation workshop
  • Arrange and conduct consortia and partners training needs assessment
  • Mentor and advise IP in selection, set up, conducting of baseline surveys (with help of consultants, NO and Area office), and implementation of pilot in 5 communities (drawing on expertise of Safer world, WVUK and other consortium members)
  • Arrange for in-country training of IP in new methodology (and any other consortium members involved) by Safer world. This will equal a total of 3 trainings.
  • Coordinate monitoring visits to pilot- of WVP and WVUK
  • Provide regular alignment and quality assurance in collaboration with WVP MEAL Office. 

 C. Coordinate the implementation of the project pilot with other partner agencies

  • Coordinate with 7 other members of the START Network consortium (Especially the conflict specialist, Safer World) through regular meetings of an advisory board.  Collaborate and disseminate information with various government agencies or line departments and other forums such as PHF

 D. Collect and disseminate results and lessons learnt from pilot

  • Feed learning and results back to other consortium members in-country and to project coordinator, Safer world and WVUK in UK (through presentations, workshops etc.).
  • Encouraging partners to integrate lessons learned into future programming.
  • Ensure translation and publication of results and learning
  • Input where appropriate, via Action learning research methods, into review and amendment of new methodology
  • Implement the project learning framework. 

 E. Project reporting & administration

  • IP lead will support project reporting. 

Knowledge Skills & Experience:

  • Master’s degree/University degree in any of the relevant field - DRR/resilience, peace and conflict studies, rural development, Sociology, Anthropology, Social work
  • At least 5 -years’ experience in management of monitoring and evaluation of DRR or conflict prevention/ peace building programs especially in conflict context humanitarian relief
  • Work experience in complex emergency/rehabilitation settings in a result of conflict /development programs
  • Experience leading consortiums or working groups
  • Experience, capacity and understanding of Do No Harm or Peace-Building theory and practice
  • Familiarity with data management software (MS Access, MS Excel, SPSS, etc) desirable
  • Knowledge of the geographical location of pilots
  • Understands and values diversity and maximizes diversity to achieve organizational goals
  • Proven experience in establishing monitoring and reporting systems and quantitative/qualitative data collection techniques
  • Coordination and leadership skills with ability to mentor IP but also draw together other consortium members and get their input     
  • Strong capacity and understanding of DM&E.  Some experience of Dissemination of lessons learned a plus
  • Fluent in English, preferred knowledge of Urdu/Hindko/Pashto
  • Administrative and organizational skills
