 About EVA-BHN Project

GRM Futures Group is the prime implementer for the Empowerment, Voice, and Accountability for Better Health and Nutrition (EVA-BHN) Project, EVA-BHN is a four year project, primarily focused on the ‘demand side’ of RMNCH and nutrition services and will complement the ‘supply side’ activities under the broader PHNP framework through enhancing communities’ understanding of their health rights, entitlements and engagement in monitoring the planning and delivery of services and organizing communities at all levels to catalyze the precipitation of desired policy changes at the local, provincial and national level.

 Position Summary

 Futures Group is seeking short-term Field Supervisors to supervise baseline data collection by field enumerators, who will administer a KAP (Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices) survey in 23 districts in KP and Punjab for the EVA-BHN Project. She will be responsible for: supervising data collection, ensuring high quality, provide feedback and take immediate notice of; and resolve any problems arising in the field, back-check 10 percent of the surveys, ensure data collection is comprehensive and as per the protocols and procedures instructed by the EVA-BHN Research, Monitoring & Evaluation (RME) Team. This position will be based in one of the Survey Districts.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise the field team to ensure high quality of data collection
  • Provide feedback and take immediate notice of and resolve any problems arising in the field
  • Back-check 10 percent of the questionnaires selected randomly
  • Ensure data collection is comprehensive and as per the protocols and procedures instructed by the EVA-BHN Research, Monitoring & Evaluation (RME) Team
  • Attend the training workshop for the KAP survey conducted by the EVA-BHN RME Team
  • Supervise implementation of the survey in target areas in accordance with the approved design
  • As part of the supervision process, conduct spot quality-assurance checks to ensure adequate performance of enumerators involved in data collection as per the guidelines/checklist provided by the EVA-BHN RME Team
  • Submit properly filed/archived hard copies of filled-in questionnaires in English language and any other documents used during the survey to the EVA-BHN RME Team

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences or related research discipline, with 3-5 years of experience in field data collection, with demonstrated ability to supervise teams of enumerators
  • Prior experience in supervising survey teams for international donors is preferable
  • Fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi/Pashto
  • Because of the gender related issues of the survey, only women can apply

 Level of Effort and Supervision

 The duration of this assignment/ contract is expected to be of 9 working days during the month of February 2015. The field supervisor will report to the EVA-BHN RME Manager.
