Concept Note
1. Purpose
Purpose of the intervention is to improve access of youth to socio economic development opportunities, RDP will support potential youth with internship/scholarship opportunities to improve their conceptual, technical and professional skills for their career development. In addition to that potential youth will also be supported and linked with public and private skills development institutions to get jobs.
2. Criteria for the applicants
The selection criteria for the induction to this internship will include but not limited to:
- Male and female students between the ages of 21 – 30 years
- Students who have completed their Master degree / 16 years of education in the disciplines of social sciences, development studies, finance, commerce and business administration with distinction and are unable to find a job in the market.
- The degree program and the institutions should be certified by higher education commission of Pakistan.
- Students who are willing to learn in their respective field of study through extensive on job training, reflection, training and exposure
- Students who are currently living in District Abbottabad, Haripur , Mardan and Buner can apply for the positions due to limited space for the internships and funding limits
- Students who are conducting their research thesis in the fields of community development, disaster management, disaster risk reduction, conflict transformation, peace building, gender, climate change and environment, human rights, women empowerment, and financial management can also apply for this opportunity
- Persons with disabilities, minority groups and internally displaced persons living and studying in the mentioned geographical areas can also apply for this opportunity
3. Selection process
All applicants will apply through brightspyre by creating / existing resume against the advertised position. The short listing committee headed by the Executive Director RDP will short list the applications and only short listed candidates will appear for an aptitude test and interview.
4. Duration and location of the internship
Internship will have a time span of three months which can be extended based upon the availability of funds and the performance of the internees. The location of the internships will included the RDP’s head office Haripur with geographic areas of Abbottabad and Haripur for the area of field work. RDP’s office in Mardan with the field work in Nowshera District and RDP’s office in Buner with the field work in Buner District.
5. Number of Internees and Stipend
RDP will induct 10 internees including five male and five female students. The internees will have to sign an internship agreement of three months with defined objectives and targets for learning.
Each internee will be paid PKR 10,000 as stipend for the duration of three months.
Please Note: The internees will have to attend the meetings and training events as nominated in different areas of Pakistan. For this participation in the events, RDP will make the travel arrangements, boarding and lodging for the internees.
