Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Team Leader responsible for supporting the implementation of all interventions matching with ACTED’s quality criteria and strategy, and for developing open, mutually respectful, and accountable relationships with the target communities.

He / She is fully responsible of his / her activities in terms of quality and dead line.

Key responsibilities :

A. Implementation of hygiene Activities

  • Participates in need assessments, WASH activities, feasibility studies, stakeholder analyses and community consultations;
  • Supports the development of agreements and MoUs with community based organizations or other civil society groups
  • Guide and supervise the work of Hygiene Promoters.
  • Guide and participate in the identification of CHPs.
  • Responsible for the arrangement of hygiene promotion sessions in community and schools
  • Liaise with concerned department for making arrangement for the hygiene sessions.
  • Mobilize the community and groups to participate in the Hygiene Promotion sessions.
  • Elaborate all needs based inputs and all other activities according to the objectives of the programme and the beneficiary involvement strategy of ACTED.
  • Mobilizes the community in the effective use of the community resources for hygiene promotion
  • Mobilize communities for the prioritizing of recovery activities and strategies.
  • Facilitates the capacity building and setup of representative community committees (steering committees)
  • Ensure, through daily dialogues and consultations that the strategy of the projects and the commitments of the various stakeholders are adhered to.
  • Responsible for mainstreaming gender
  • Maximize beneficiary contribution through mobilization and running awareness campaigns in community during hygiene promotion session.
  • Participate in NFI distributions whenever required.
  • Supports in the development of IEC materials for all activities implemented.

B. Documentation

Complete documentation and filing on time and in correct format. Keep track record of the attendance sheets of CHPs (Community Hygiene Promoter)

Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries

The staff member is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensure that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies. This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
