1. Background:
Rural Development Project (RDP) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization working for the empowerment of poor and vulnerable communities in Pakistan. Established in 1992 by a set of highly motivated, socially committed and like-minded individuals the organization was registered under societies Act of 1860 in December 1993. RDP started its activities in 1992 on mutual help basis by mobilizing and organizing the masses for disaster management, poverty alleviation, gender-Discrimination and protection of human rights. Currently RDP is a national level humanitarian organization having its operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh Provinces.
In partnership with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) , RDP is implementing a 15 months project under LACIP funding facility in District Buner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The livelihoods enhancement and protection component of the project aims to provide and strengthen employment opportunities to the most vulnerable and poor households. These households are identified by RDP through a rigorous poverty baseline using the standard poverty scorecard and verifying it through PRA exercises.
This RFP is aimed to hire the services of expert instituted / individual to conduct training needs assessment and impart enterprise development training to the participants. These participants are the beneficiaries who will receive livelihoods assets to start, improve or expand their existing source of livelihoods thus enabling them to have viable environment friendly source(s) of income.
2. Purpose:
To conduct training needs assessment train the beneficiaries on enterprise development skills and developing sustainable business plans.
3. Duration of consultancy and role of consultant
Time duration of the consultancy will be 5 working days. The consultant will conduct the training needs assessment of the identified beneficiaries and will develop a report. The consultant will then develop training module customized as per needs of the beneficiaries and will conduct the training. Trainings will be organized in the target area.
4. Submission of Proposal
The applicant firms / individuals are requested to submit the proposal on the attached format as annexure – 1.
Please Note: The beneficiaries are from a rural area and have very low level of literacy. It is expected that the trainer will propose a methodology to address this barrier. Trainers should have full command over Pushto Language .
5. Award of Contract
An agreement shall be executed at the time of award of this work between RDP and the successful organization/individual.
6. Reporting an supervision
The consultant will report to Programme Manager RDP during the contract period of training.
7. Completion of Task
Selected consultant will complete all the activities within stipulated time.
8. Releasing of Funds
The release of funds will be made in three installments.
- 20 % at the time of agreement singing as mobilization advance.
- 20 % upon completion field work and submission of draft report and module
- 60 % upon submission of final report duly approved by Program Manager RDP and PPAF LEP Unit.
9. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Please note that sending Hard Copy is mandatory. All the applicants are requested to attach their previous work in similar domain for review by the procurement committee of RDP.
