Job Purpose
Key responsible position for the assigned IT projects/activities.  Under the supervision of the head of IT department, position will plan, manage, monitor and report on assigned IT driven literacy projects which may include computer vocational training projects, student centered school IT activities, online trainings and IT infrastructure management.

Planning and execution of IT Program schools activities - 25% 

  • Contributes to the ongoing development of long-term IT strategies for the schools.
  • Explores new educational technologies and keeps the staff up to date on new and existing learning tools
  • Engage with and oversee the planning and implementation of the student centered collaborative project based learning activities with strong coordination of project and school staff.
  • Liaisons and schedules collective learning activities with partner organizations.
  • Ensures that pre-defined guidelines are followed and all IT activities carried out accordingly.
  • Completes field testing and strengthens the repository of computer based learning resources
  • Develops custom software solutions, where possible and/or reasonable within time constraints
  • Provide advice, support and direction to the IT coordinators in technical and IT resources matters.
  • Facilitates & guides the project staff to ensure that IT Program policies and guidelines are implemented, complied with and adapted.
  • Advises the IT trainers and project staff members on IT related staff development needs
  • Provides advice, support and direction to the project staff in strategic and resource matters and other IT initiatives.
  • Work closely with project staff to identify & prioritize the IT needs
  • Keeps up to date and enhance professional knowledge and skills needed for improving performance
  • Creates systems for resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner 

Technical facilitation and guidance to Project staff - 30% 

  • Provide advice, support and direction to the IT coordinators in technical and IT resources matters.
  • Facilitates & guides the project staff to ensure that IT Program policies and guidelines are implemented, complied with and adapted.
  • Advises the IT trainers and project staff members on IT related staff development needs
  • Provides advice, support and direction to the project staff in strategic and resource matters and other IT initiatives.

IT Infrastructure development and maintenance - 20% 

  • Liaises with projects and administration on all schools’ ICT issues/requirements including replacements maintenance and procurement.
  • Provides plans relating to IT resource provision as required.
  • Designs network diagrams, computer lab layout and specifications
  • Selects, orders and ensures proper installation of suitable IT equipment and software
  • Liaises with service providers for providing reliable online connectivity solutions for schools
  • Coordinates with selected vendors and supervises major maintenance and repairs of systems and network infrastructure. 

Monitoring and reporting - 25% 

  • Ensures that all IT inventory records and data is updated on quarterly basis
  • Reports the training needs of the project IT coordinators to the department head.
  • Visits project schools and training centers frequently and provides feedback to ensure fruitful implementation of activities/projects
  • Coordinates with M&E department through the department head for teachers/students assessments and project evaluations.
  • Ensures proper dissemination of information between trainers, projects staff members and IT department.
  • Submits quarterly reports on activities, status and progress.
  • Communicates and shares data with training and program department to ensure that activity goals are met.
  • Develops and manages activity budgets.

Education: (Formal degree) 

  • Graduation in IT, telecommunication or in any related discipline from a well reputed university ( Masters degree is desirable)

 (Relevant) Experience: 

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in education or development sector

Ability to apply strong analytical skills in the development of long term and short term plans.

Ability to provide leadership and guidance as mentor to IT coordinators in accordance with the developmental needs.
