Community Appraisal and Motivation Programme (CAMP) is a national non-profit and non-governmental organisation established and registered in May 2002, under the Societies Act of 1860 (Registration No. 192/5/2946). We work with some of the most underprivileged communities in Pakistan; responding to emergencies, improving access to quality health and education, creating livelihood opportunities and working closely with communities and government departments to promote human rights, peace and security.

Project/Department Objective: The Project will aim to increase and improve policy level dialogue and advocacy on women's protection issues, through the meaningful inclusion of women-led civil society, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan. This will be achieved by building capacities of selected women-led civil society organisations (CSOs), and by building and promoting a women's CSOs coalition in these areas.

Job Description

Job Summary:

With guidance and direction from the Director Programmes, the Project Manager will start up the project and be responsible for the implementation of all project activities including capacity building and advocacy activities, according to agreed standards and timeline. She will also be responsible for writing internal and donor reports and supervising the project officer.

Following are the main responsibilities for the position:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management
  • Set up the project including conducting a needs assessment of women led CSOs in KP and Balochistan
  • Finalise project log frame and project work plan, and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Support M&E team in order to develop an M&E plan for the project within the first two months
  • Manage day to day operational aspects of the project including setting up of the women’s network in KP and Balochistan; compiling training material; conducting capacity building workshops; arranging meetings and advocacy sessions with stakeholders etc.
  • Compile and edit six project newsletters with project updates, features, interviews etc. 
  • Provide regular input and feedback to the CSOs network, including sharing relevant updates and material
  • Ensure project documents are properly filed
  • Provide periodical updates for CAMP website, Facebook page, etc.
  • Take part in regular coordination meetings with the team for progress updates
  • Keep track of lessons learned and share it with the management
  • Develop quality progress reports, analytical reports, training reports, case studies etc.
  • Represent the programme at internal and other coordination meetings as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Finance team in monitoring assigned budget and ensure compliance with contract and donor guidelines and requirements.  Make recommendations and follow up for improvement and compliance.
  • Foster a positive, productive and professional work environment and professional relationships amongst staff; facilitate productive working relationships between the Head office, Regional and the field offices.
  • Participate in integrated planning and cooperation, and help identify opportunities for future projects.
  1. Compliance with CAMP Policies and Procedures
  • Adhere to CAMP policies/procedures including finance, human resources, security, procurement and logistics; and ensure staff compliance
  • Participate in professional development activities, as needed or assigned.
  • Provide efficient supervision and management for all direct reports and lead the establishment and functioning of a strong, effective and coordinated team.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of CAMP’s performance management process for direct reports, including job description and APO development, regular feedback, mid-term reviews, annual performance appraisals and staff training and development.
  • Oversee the recruitment and orientation of project staff.

Working Conditions & Travel:

The position is based in Islamabad with travel to Peshawar and Quetta for conducting training and networking activities

Person Specification

Education and Experience:

  • Law degree/Masters in Human/Women’s Rights, or related Masters Degree from HEC recognized University

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in managing a project, preferably a women related project
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of pro-women laws in Pakistan
  • Experience in conducting training and advocacy sessions
  • Experience of working with civil society, networking and building collaborative relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English and Urdu; Pashto would be an added advantage
  • Microsoft office experience (word, excel, outlook express, internet, powerpoint) and preferably project management software
  • Experience of planning, organizing, delegating work
  • Time management skills and qualitative report writing experience
  • Having organizational commitment, personal integrity, ability to work with diverse groups of people and respect for others
