Relevant Experience:

General Qualifications/Skills

  • Ability to perform successfully as a member of multiple project-related teams;
  • Strong computer literacy skills required in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, web browsers, and email;
  • Excellent communications and writing ability;
  • Demonstrated successful interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in both English and Urdu required; other Pakistani languages preferred;
  • A willingness to travel to all provinces of Pakistan; and
  • Work experience in the private sector and in a development project environment is preferred, with work experience in the former being more preferable.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of work experience in a position similar to this one, prior USAID experience preferable.
  • Substantial experience with Microsoft Excel required, and inventory tracking and database experience preferred.

Educational Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. required; additional professional certification(s) preferred. 


Job Description:

The Operations Associate shall support the position’s supervisor and fellow project colleagues in the successful implementation of all aspects of the project’s work plan and achievement of the project objective. The individual holding this position shall perform, but not be limited to, the following specific tasks: 

  1. Maintain process documentation to compliment asset's base of internal controls and process flows;
  2. Undertake operational procurements while being compliant to USAID rules and regulations;
  3. Maintain various trackers, as well as overlooking OPARs and expense reports;
  4. Generate payment request forms, process invoices and follow up to ensure timely payments to vendors;
  5. Assist in the arrangements and processing of all the logistics pertaining to employee/consultants/visitors traveling, meetings and other events;
  6. Follow up on maintenance/servicing of generator, photocopiers, printers, computers, pool items such as phones and any other office equipment;
  7. Facility management for the project office and guest house;
  8. Maintain project related equipment and follow up on timely provision of office supplies;
  9. Provide secretarial, word-processing, spread-sheeting, faxing, filing and other administrative assistance;
  10. Help in multimedia conference room setup;
  11. Identify potential vendors and gather their contact details to circulate RFP/RFQs;
  12. Ensure that complete project documentation is maintained in both hard copy and soft copy form as per standard compliance policies by Chemonics;
  13. Assist other team members and supervise office assistants as may be required from time to time to ensure optimal project performance;
  14. Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor or the Chief of Party or his/her designee.
