Chemonics International, an international development consulting company based in Washington, D.C., seeks Pakistani national candidates for the USAID-funded Punjab Enabling Environment Project (PEEP). This five year initiative aims to improve the enabling environment for the agriculture sector in Punjab to promote private sector led growth, especially focusing on the horticulture and dairy and livestock sub-sectors. We are seeking technical specialists for the following long-term position based in Lahore, Punjab province, Pakistan.

Grants Manager

  • Responsible for implementation and compliance of $1.25 million grants under contract program.
  • Oversees and manages the grant design, application, competitive grantee selection processes,  approval, implementation, close-out processes, liaising with component counterparts to strengthen ongoing grant-making.
  • Mentors and trains relevant partners in all processes related to grants, organizes and tracks all grant documents, monitors individual grant budgets and expenditures, and performs due diligence on reimbursement requests to ensure they are valid and allowable. 
  • Provides both strategic and technical guidance to the Chief of Party and other technical and administrative personnel.
  • Reports to the compliance manager; does not have any direct supervisees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Business, or related field is required; certifications and/or master's degree preferred;
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing international donor-funded grants programs, with demonstrated experience managing USAID-funded grants under contracts strongly preferred;
    • Understanding of applicable policies and procedures with regard to financial management, procurement and grants management requirements is required.
    • Strong background in project administration and financial and budget management in other donor-funded programs is required.
    • Proven experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders including government officials, donor organizations, and private sector players including firms, associations, civil society organizations.
    • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity;
    • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain a rapid and demanding pace of work;
    • Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills;
    • Detail oriented and ability to accurately document files;
    • Fluency in both written and oral English required.
