Program Assistant Lahore, Pakistan

The Program Assistant (Private Sector) will be based at “Pakistan Flour Millers Associations-Punjab Chapter Head Office (PFMA Lahore) and will support the programmatic and administrative activities of the wheat flour fortification program in Punjab in coordination with the industry.

Work at the Punjab Flour Millers Association- PFMA (Private Sector) as well as with the Manager Food Fortification and other team members. Program Assistant will provide Administrative and Program related support to the Punjab Wheat Flour Fortification Project, maintaining the ownership of the industry players and keeping them motivated to execute Project related activities in timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Be the advocate and representative of the Project in PFMA;
  • Have close coordination with the Chairman PFMA Punjab and other executive committee members;
  • Be focal person for the collection and management of data related to flour mills industry in Punjab and provide access to the data to various players of the Project especially Program Manager Monitoring and Evaluation and Program Manager FF Punjab;
  • Coordinate with Program Manager Monitoring and Evaluation in effective interface with PFMA and its members;
  • Assisting PFMA (Pakistan Flour Millers Association- Punjab Chapter) in maintaining liaison with the different stakeholders of the wheat flour fortification project in the province.
  • To organize the awareness campaign and other activities to make association member understand the new regulations and its impact on flour mills operation
  • Maintaining active involvement with the regulatory bodies for the compliance of the measures proposed by these regulatory body/bodies.
  • Providing the timely inputs for the development of an effective supply chain mechanism for the equipment and the premix.
  • Assisting PFMA/the Industry in maintaining a close liaison with GAIN for the technical assistance required to improve the internal QA/QC.
  • Providing regular reports to FF Manager and the PFMA executive body on monitoring the progress of the industry and the success stories
  • Assisting PFMA and the FF manager in organizing the project related trainings and consultation session for the capacity building of industry.
  • Monitoring of flour fortification processes during and after the implementation of flour fortification project

Experience

  • At least 3 years of work experience for a private sector development project, working with the private sector forums, trade organizations, chamber of commerce or business networks.

  • Reliable and ability to work without close supervision.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Computer literacy with excellent MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Fluent English, Urdu and  Punjabi

Education

  • Master’s or Bachelors Degree in relevant field
