DAI (Development Alternatives Inc.) is managing DFID-"Voice and Accountability and Innovation Funds for Education Programme (Ilm Ideas) in Pakistan.

The purpose of this assignment is to contribute to Ilm-Ideas Programme communication strategy implementation with the objective of promoting awareness, understanding, support and respect for the efforts that UKaid is making through Ilm-Ideas.

Key duties and tasks:

  • Updated website

 

Ilm-ideas has a website that needs to be updated by providing new content in both

English and Urdu. The consultant will read the documents of recently launched projects and develop contents with project highlights to be placed on the website. It will require writing good project stories with relevant visual contents. 

 

  • Ilm-Ideas newsletter

 

The first newsletter was printed in March, and the next newsletter is due in September, 2012. The consultant will work on developing contents for the next newsletter and coordinate with the printers to bring out the newsletter by the end of September.

 

Public Ceremony

 

Ilm-Ideas is planning to hold a ceremony in a local hotel to share the lessons learnt from the first round of RFA and to announce the launch of the second round in September. The consultant will organize the ceremony including the following tasks

1>     Developing a list of invitees

2>     Oversee arrangements at the hotel including, backdrop development, media coordination, press release development and dissemination, and ensuring media coverage of the event in both Urdu and English media

3>     Mobilize mainstream media partners to participate in the ceremony

4>     Managing all communication related matters of the ceremony

5>     Writing a post event report

6>     After the launch, collect clippings of media coverage of the launch

Qualifications:

  • Advanced university degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or any other  related field in social sciences
  • At least five years of demonstrated professional experience in similar areas
  • Language proficiency in both Urdu and English including flawless writing skills
