The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982, AKRSP has been working in Federally Administered Gilgit Baltistan and district Chitral of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in the field of integrated rural development with the mission to promote inclusive human development and eradicate extreme poverty.

We are looking for some suitable candidates to fill in some vacant positions in MER. In this regard applications are invited from competent professionals to fill in Mid-Management Level positions in MER based at our Core Office, Gilgit.

Job Purpose:

  • To design, conduct and report on socio-economic assessments and analysis related to programme interventions and issues for improved monitoring, evaluation and learning.
  • To provide feedback to Management through monitoring, evaluation, and assessment of programmes, projects, packages, activities and processes for course corrections and programme improvements.

Experience required:

5 to 10 years experience in monitoring evaluation, research and reporting, including 2 years experience of wirking in development sector.

Job Description:

  • Conceptualise, design, and oversee the implementation of quantitative baseline and follow-up surveys, periodic programme assessments, cost-benefits analysis of projects, activities and packages and produce reports.
  • Conduct qualitative studies on issues that emerge from the quantitative surveys and reports.
  • Build capacities of MER staff in designing and conducting both the quantitative and qualitative research in the programme area.
  • Facilitate, manage and coordinate economic research efforts taken by other MER staff at the Core, Regional and Field offices in designing and executing cross-regional economic research studies and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Lead in the preparation of the annual plan and finalize it in time.
  • Ensure timely production of all progress, annual and donor reports in collaboration with MER staff and the sections.
  • Identify and arrange training courses on monitoring and evaluation for MER professionals and Local Support Organization's (LSO) professionals etc.

Must Degree Degree Level Country Description
 Masters in EconomicsMasters Degree Preferably with focus on microeconomics analysis or development economics. MBA or Masters in Sociology with relevant experience may also be considered.
