USAID GHSC PSM project is technical partner of National Institute of Health, MoNHSR&C, Government of Pakistan. The project is providing support to newly established Technology Excellence Center for Health (TECH) at NIH. The TECH is aiming to produce standardized MIS products focusing on services, logistics and surveillance data streams which can be implemented across the provinces and regions. The project has started collaborating for development of a National Health and Social Care Program. The project would also support for diagnostic & existing Surveillance System Strengthening for infectious diseases/Outbreak Management.

Objective of the Consultancy

Through this consultancy the project will provide support for IT operations for the successful delivery and continuation of the data center & related infrastructure capacity building.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide project implementation services to client departments.
  2. Encourage and promote IT solutions offered by NIH for health sector IT reforms to potential client departments. and capabilities
  3. Responsible for high quality, customer centric communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Provide training and support where included in scope to the specified standards.
  5. Joint responsibility for the transition of projects from the technical solutions team into the implementation phase.
  6. Responsible for all implementations and securing customer sign off at the end of the implementation.
  7. Support the initiative by leading the IT implementation project in the  public health sector.
  8. Develop and manage long-term plans for successful implementation and future sustainability of the IT interventions.
  9. Ensure the effective/efficient deployment of institutional information technology resources

Required Skills and Qualifications

The individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the principal duties.

  • Masters/Bachelor’s Degree from HEC recognised local or foreign institution in the field of Computer
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience at managerial positions
  • Solid understanding of ICT governance practices and standards
  • Excellent interpersonal,  communications skills & presentation skills
  • Fluency in English required

Period of Performance

The expected duration of the assignment is nine (09) months.  

Supervision

The consultant will report to Director MIS.
