This is a short-term assignment which will be carried out in the month of August for a total of seven (7) days only. 

CARE International is a leading global humanitarian and development organization. Since its establishment in 2005, CARE International in Pakistan (CIP) has been responding to major disasters and undertaking an array of development projects. CIP works through its local partners and a range of stakeholders for development, as well as emergency response related interventions, which makes collaboration a key component of its work, across the country. Health, governance and education, with particular focus on economic empowerment, are CARE’s core identified program areas in Pakistan.

I. Context: 

CIP will commence implementation of its Baseline and Pre-KAP data collection which aims to engage with the communities of Tehsil Mirali and Miranshah of Tribal District North Waziristan to collect their responses about the current WASH and Food security and agriculture situation.

CIP desires to engage 24 suitably qualified and experienced male and female enumerators to collect the data from local community according to the defined methodology and support data entry operations.

II. Position Objectives: 

The main purpose of this assignment is to record responses of the expected beneficiaries of the ongoing project in Tribal District North Waziristan. The enumerators will be engaged in conducting interviews on the designed format by MEAL section of CIP in Tehsil Mirali and Miranshah. Given the COVID-19 related limitations, the Enumerates will follow Government SoPs during this exercise.

III. Position Responsbilities:

Preference will be given to candidates/enumerators who are locals or from the adjacent locations of Tribal District North Waziristan - and well versed with the cultural context. The enumerators will be expected to provide high-quality services consistently through out the duration of their engagement and will have the following responsibilities

  • Quality data collection from the targeted villages as per the data collection instruments
  • Provide regular update to his/her supervisor on daily basis regarding progress on the designated task.
  • Immediately report any discrepancies in the data
  • Responsible to rectify the errors if occurs in data collection.
  • Review and check the collected data before submission to data entrant and supervisor
  • Daily submission of forms to the data entrant
  • Enumerators will be responsible to rectify any errors identified by the database person
  • Enumerators will be responsible for any missed data from field and he/she has to complete it.
  • Share pictorial evidence of data collection (subject to consent from the research participants) where applicable.
  • Perform data entry operations.
  • Will be responsible to uphold all core values of CARE International and abide by the protocols of research shared during the capacity building workshops delivered by CARE.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

IV. Job Specifications: 

Education: At least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or a combination of education and related work experience. 

Required Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection with NGOs/INGOs, consultancy firms and/or academia.
  • Work experience in the target location is required.
  • Experience in data entry using excel or any other statistical software.
  • Should have the ability to speak local language.
  • Should have good written and verbal communication skills and should speak politely to people.
  • Should be familiar with the area or the locality they are working in.
  • Should have the ability to handle pressure.
  • Highly organized individual, capable of handling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing time effectively.
  • Should be a team player

Deliverable:

  • Provision of data collection participants’ complete and reliable data in hard copy.
  • Progress reports and hard copies of collected data shared on daily basis
  • Ensure completion of other field-based project activities assigned by CARE
  • Submit completed time sheets per day stating tasks accomplished and challenges faced
