Project Description:

The U.S.-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) activity in Pakistan is a USAID funded activity implemented by CNFA with the goal of supporting the development of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture, particularly through improving the ability of Pakistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors to meet both international and domestic demand and requirements in targeted product lines in citrus, mango, high value/off season vegetables and livestock. AMD’s targeted interventions such as training, matching grants, and technical assistance is aimed to leverage private sector investment and encourage innovation. Together, these interventions will upgrade and streamline supply chains, optimize profit margins, increase in horticulture produce export, enhancing participation of women entrepreneurs, and ultimately make Pakistani mango, citrus, meat and HV/OSV production and marketing more profitable and competitive.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

This STTA position will be based in Lahore and is open to Pakistani nationals only. The Communications Consultant will provide support to the communications specialist in all ongoing communications related activities including writing and editing: weekly technical update reports, USAID weekly highlight reports, monthly alert reports, quarterly and annual reports. The STTA will also work with the specialist to organize upcoming key USAID visits and the E-beam inauguration ceremony. 

 

Specific duties include:

 This assignment requires the following specific functions:

  • Support the Communications Specialist in all communications related activities including:

o   Planning and holding key up-coming project events including USAID visits and E-beam inauguration (on-ground assessment, task matrix development, key benchmarks checklist, EBCL, Talking Points, Press Release, Event execution etc.);

o   Assist in finalizing profiles on all AMD grantees;

o   Assist in finalizing success stories on AMD grantees and interventions;

o   Assist in managing BSP engaged for developing AMD product line documentary, photography project and success story data collection;

o   Develop and update presentations for project events as per requirement;

o   Proactively research updated USAID communications policies and regulations to ensure compliance of communications activities;

o   Other communications related duties as assigned.

Deliverables:

  • Monthly update report of all activities conducted by the STTA as per the assignment scope.

Supervision/Reporting:

Communications Specialist, AMD.

Working Conditions / Special Considerations:

The employee is expected to comply with the terms and conditions as noted in the letter of agreement with CNFA.

This assignment is based in Pakistan. Lahore will be the primary duty post, but the employee may spend approximately 20% of his time in other Project Provinces within Pakistan.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pakistani national;
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in economic growth/ agriculture related USAID funded projects in Pakistan;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
  • Demonstrated skill in program communication, development of information and communication material;
  • Event management and support experience;
  • Ability to produce well-presented reports and publications;
  • Team player, problem solver with the ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in English required, Excellent written English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
