Job Description

Master Trainers

School-to-School International (STS) is seeking a group of Master Trainers to train the data collection teams for the 2018 endline Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) for a USAID-funded early grade reading project in Pakistan. The 2018 endline will provide evidence of progress made in student test scores following the commencement of project activities.

The training will cover the administration of the EGRA in either Urdu or Sindhi, as well as student, teacher, and head teacher interviews. During the first phase, Master Trainers will participate in a one-week Master Trainer training led by STS staff and will work with STS staff to finalize the training course for the enumerators. During the second phase, the Master Trainers will work in teams of two to three to deliver the training to enumerators.

The assignment will be for up to one month starting in October 2018, depending on each Master Trainers’ role.

The trainings will take place in Karachi and/or Hyderabad. Master Trainers will be assigned based on geographical, language, and professional experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and successfully complete a one-week Master Trainer training.
  • Work with STS technical staff to finalize a training course for enumerators and field supervisors.
  • Facilitate and manage a one-week enumerator training on the administration of EGRA tools and survey questionnaires.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences or related field.
  • At least five (5) years of data collection experience on surveys and/or assessments required.
  • Experience serving as master trainer or trainer of enumerators for large scale data collection activities.
  • Experience designing training courses, preferably for data collection activities, prior experience with training on EGRA preferred.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a large team of local and expat professionals.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu for Urdu trainers.
  • Fluency in English and Sindhi for Sindhi trainers.
