Job Description

Assessment Lead

STS seeks an Assessment Lead for a USAID-funded early grade reading program in Pakistan. This short-term position will provide support to the project from September 2018-April 2019. The Assessment Lead will provide support to plan for and prepare for the EGRA assessment enumerator trainings, data collection and results dissemination. The Assessment Lead will have experience designing and implementing EGRA training programs and administering EGRA assessments, training Quality Control Officers, Master Trainers and enumerators, and providing quality control oversight of EGRA data collections. The Assessment Lead will also support the results dissemination workshops.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders in Pakistan to ensure that the EGRA trainings and data collection are aligned with other activities and that key stakeholders are involved as appropriate in the planning and implementation of EGRA training and data collection
  • Support Training of Master Trainers and QCO’s workshop on EGRA administration in Pakistan.
  • Ensure alignment with National Curriculum and appropriate context within local languages, culture, and gender.
  • In collaboration with data collection firm(s), develop electronic data collection methodologies.
  • Provide oversight during EGRA data collection
  • Maintain regular communication with the client, project field staff, and STS home office staff.
  • When required, submit brief reports to STS home office staff.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in international development, education, economics, statistics, research methods, political science, public policy, social science, or a related field.
  • At least five years’ experience in the field of education required. Experience in reading assessment strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience adapting electronic data collection software.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity. 
  • Pakistani citizen.
  • English fluency required. Urdu and Sindhi fluency required.
