1.     PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Empower youth for Work (EYW) is a 5 years’ program that aims to work towards poverty reduction, youth empowerment (especially young girls) and gender equality. The project will promote implementation of effective policies and practices that address the economic and gendered exclusion of youth and lead to productive and decent employment prospects for young people. 70% of the target audience will be young women aged 15-24 residing in the rural and semi-urban areas of districts Layyah in Punjab and Jamshoro in Sindh.

SME Development Fund is one of the major objective of the project with an aim to build local industry’s capacity and capability to (a) Improve their business operations thus expand theirbusiness (b) provide hands on skill development & job opportunities for local youth. For this purpose, a detailed SME scoping and mapping exercise was conducted by the project in Layyah & Jamshoro districts. Interested SMEs who applied for the SME Development Fund were went through a comprehensive process of application, assessment & evaluation and selected number of SMEs were shortlisted for the program. In first phase, shortlisted SMEs are to be provided with Business Development Trainings. Based on Training Need Assessment, specialized training modules are developed by experts with inputs from industry experts.

2.     STATEMENT OF NEED

The project intends to provide multiple trainings to SMEs on BDS. For this purpose, this EoI is being issued to hire services of qualified & experienced trainers (organizations & individuals) to deliver the BDS trainings based on the training modules developed by experts. The trainings shall be conducted at project locations i.e. Layyah & Jamshoro

3.     STATEMENT OF WORK

The trainer shall be responsible

(a)    Development of trainings material based on developed modules

(b)   Defining training methodology & pedagogies to be used

(c)    Recording participant feedback & evaluate the learning

(d)   Prepare trainings report recording, in addition to above, the areas of advancement & improvement needed.

NOTE:      The detailed modules shall be shared with bidders applicants. The bidders may, present and justify any modifications or improvement to the statement of work described in above modules to improve performance in carrying out the assignment (such as deleting some activity considered unnecessary, or adding others, or proposing a different phasing of the activities).  Such suggestions should be concise and to the point and incorporated in the Proposal of each bidder.

 

 

5.     IMPLEMENTATION METHODOLOGY

The bidders shall specify the methodology& andragogy to be implemented in deliverance of the Assignment.

6.     MODE OF SUBMISSION OF EOI

The consultants can apply for, either the complete assignment i.e. all Modules, or any one Module, or any combination of Modules and submit EoI accordingly.

7.     MODE OF EXECUTION

The successful bidder will be required to execute the assignment in the following manner:

  1. Sign the standard contract with the TIE.
  2. Development of material as per requirements prescribed in section 3 of this EoI along with implementation plan
    1. Implementation of the assignment as per agreed framework in coordination withTIE & Local development partners
