Job Description: 

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: (select only one)

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

 

ROLE PURPOSE:

The objective of this position is to oversee and ensure smooth functioning of Finance activities in the respective field area.

 

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Role Dimensions: Save the Children works in 2 provinces of Pakistan with a current staff complement of approximately 150 staff and current expenditure of over $5 million each year.

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

  • Checking compliance documents of bank & cash payments as per SC protocols;
  • Petty Cash Management;
  • Prepare daily Cash Count;
  • Disbursement of cheques to suppliers ;
  • Update cash book and Bank book in Microsoft Excel;
  • Prepare tax-at-source deduction challans and deposit into Government treasury;
  • Prepare tax-at-source deduction monthly and yearly statement and submit with relevant tax authorities;
  • Liaise with tax authorities/suppliers to issue tax-at-source deduction certificates;
  • File and tax respective files & vouchers;
  • Support finance staff during the internal/external audit by voucher filing;
  • Assist in preparation of monthly finance report;
  • TA/DA disbursement to govt. Officials in field;
  • Payments to training participants;
  • Assist in preparation of monthly forecast & weekly cash status
  • Perform any other task as and when assigned by the department;
